Asamankese (E/R), Aug 20, - Ghanaians abroad have been urged to take advantage of the improved investment climate in the country and invest in various sectors of the economy to help attain the objectives of 'Vision 2020'. The call was made by the newly-installed Nkosuohene (development chief) for Asamankese Anum, Nana Osei Gyan, after he had sworn the oath of allegiance to the chief of the town, Barima Gyau Kumanin the first, and the people yesterday. Nana Gyan, known in private life as Mr Seth Osei-Gyan, is Manager of Extended Management Corporation in New Jersey, United States. He called on citizens of the town, especially those abroad, to visit home and assist in the development of the area, saying that they should not expect the government to do everything for them. Nana Gyan who donated two million cedis towards the renovation of the chief's palace, pledged to bring investors from the US and appealed to the chiefs to release land for the investors when they come. He called on the people to avoid squabbles, land and chieftaincy disputes to enable unity and peace to prevail to promote development. He announced that citizens of Asamankese Anum in the US have contributed 400,000 cedis towards development projects in the town. Barima Kumanin urged the new chief to help mobilise the resources of the people for development and assured him of his support.
