Renowned media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah, has expressed her surprise at the Ghana Bar Association's silence on pressing national issues.

She noted that despite several contentious matters arising during President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's administration, the association has remained silent, failing to share their opinions publicly to hold authorities accountable.

Nana Aba noted that she finds it astonishing that the legal body has stayed silent, especially given the scandals and corruption-related issues that have surfaced in the nation recently.

"The Ghana Bar Association has been so quiet on this issue. I didn't think they had it in them to be this silent," she commented on X.

Her remarks coincide with the increasing prevalence of corruption-related issues involving government officials.

Among the controversial topics is the money laundering case concerning the former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah, which is under investigation by the authorities.

Additionally, there has been the intended sale of 60% of the shares of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) in some hotels, to a company owned by the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong.

These and other concerns have prompted criticism from political analysts and various institutions, who have denounced the actions of the government officials.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Bar Association, traditionally vocal on national issues, has yet to address these matters.
