Prices of all petroleum products have been increased by 15 per cent with immediate effect.

Premium petrol now sells at 855 point five six instead of 744 point four cedis per litre.

Diesel now sells at 822 cedis point two three cedis per litre. The new price for Kerosene is 600 cedis per litre. LP Gas now sells at 920.00 cedis per kilogram instead of 820 cedis.

The new prices was announced by the General Manager of Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited, Dr. Kwabena Donkor at a news conference in Accra today.

He said the adjustment has become necessary because of trends in import prices for petroleum products, which were monitored by the National Petroleum Tender Board from the beginning of this year.

Dr Donkor recalled that in February 1997, the government introduced the policy of setting and adjusting wholesale and retail prices for petroleum products based on prices of petroleum products imported in to the country.
