Agona-Nkwanta (W/R), March 6, GNA - Mr Kwesi Biney, the acting Ahanta West District Chief Executive, on Sunday said all Ghanaians had a role to play in sustaining the country's democratic process. He was speaking at a 48th Independence anniversary parade of school children, students and voluntary organisations at Agona-Nkwanta. Mr Biney said children and the youth particularly could help promote the country's democracy by being disciplined and hardworking and by taking advantage of opportunities made available to them by their parents and the government.

He said democratic governance was the key to the country's development and unless this was recognised and upheld, peace and prosperity would elude the nation.

Schools and voluntary organisations that took part in the parade included Nazareth School, Abura Vocational Training School, Unity Academy, Arthur Fischer Catholic JSS, Boys and Girls Brigade of the Methodist Church and Adventist Youth Wing.

The parade was under the command of Leading Fireman Gideon Tsagli of the Ghana National Fire Service. 06 March 05
