Columbus Crew defender Jonathan Mensah is likely to earn his first appearance at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations when the Black Stars take on Egypt in the final Group D clash on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old has been warming the Black Stars bench since the beginning of the competition.
Head Coach Avram Grant seemed to be satisfied with the central defensive pair of Daniel Amartey and John Boye.
Mensah could however earn a place in the team for the clash against the North Africans as Grant prepares to hand opportunity to some fringe players in the team.
Other players who could also have a feel of the competition for the first time are Samuel Tetteh, Ebenezer Ofori, youngster Bernard Tekpetey and goalkeeper Richard Ofori who are all making their debut at the Cup of Nations.
