Media personalities Kwasi Aboagye and MC Yaa Yeboah have been embroiled in a heated argument sparked by some earlier comments made by Nana Ama McBrown regarding cooking shows in the country.

Their argument stemmed from McBrown's remarks during a phone interview with Medikal on Onua TV, where she addressed what she perceived as attempts to replicate the success of her cooking show, 'McBrown Kitchen'.

This was after Medikal had expressed interest in joining 'McBrown Kitchen' to showcase his culinary skills.

It can be recalled that McBrown acknowledged the competitive landscape but affirmed her belief in God, stating, "While I don't begrudge anyone trying to earn their livelihood, those who are truly blessed by God will always shine."

She hinted at others trying to emulate her show but emphasized that true blessings would prevail in the end.

However, during a discussion on Peace FM's Entertainment Review show, MC Yeboah criticized McBrown for her remarks about other cooking shows airing on different TV channels, suggesting that the 'McBrown's Kitchen' host shouldn't lay sole claim to the genre or disparage others.

MC Yeboah emphasized the longstanding presence of cooking shows on Ghanaian television, citing examples like Gifty Anti’s ‘Asanka Delight’, and deemed McBrown's response during the interview with Medikal unnecessary.

“Cooking shows have a long history in Ghana. I recall Gifty Anti’s ‘Asanka Delight’ from back then. I think McBrown’s reply during the interview with Medikal was uncalled for because the question didn’t call for such an answer," she said.

Kwasi Aboagye, the host of the show, on the other hand, countered MC Yeboah's argument, supporting McBrown's perspective.

He defended McBrown's right to express her views, stating that such discussions were common among hosts and that MC Yeboah might have reacted similarly if in McBrown's shoes.

“There’s nothing wrong with it. As a host, these are common practices. Don’t sit here and pretend otherwise; you might have reacted even more strongly,” he contended.
