One of Ghana’s leading female lawyers,  Betty Mould Iddrisu, has taken up an appointment at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London as the Director of the organisation’s Legal and Constitutional Division. She is a former Senior Legal Advisor at the AG’s Department. An expert in intellectual property law, she also lectured at the Law Faculty of the University of Ghana. She founded the African Women Lawyers’ Association – a group of females lawyers lobbying for equal opportunities for women. Asked what will become of AWLA in her absence, she said the group is doing “marvelously well”.
