Accra, (Greater Accra) 14 Sept.,

Accra, (Greater Accra) 14 Sept., Brong Ahafo United played a very determined game to beat Worawora Evergreens 3-2 in their middle league match played at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday. Left winger Asoma Dauda (31st) and Michael Adu (84th and 90th) netted for B.A United while inside left Rashid Agba and left full back Kwame Aidoo scored for Evergreens in the 12th and 56th minutes respectively. United dominated a greater part of the first half but could not rpt not convert the goal scoring chances they created. Against the run of play, Agba opened the scoring for Evergreens with a powerful shot in the 12th minute after receiving a good pass from midfielder Richard Yeboah. In the 31st minute Dauda equalised for United from the penalty area after a defensive mix-up by Evergreens. Five minutes later Dauda headed home a second goal from a lob but Takoradi-based class one referee, Yanney disallowed it for no apparent reason. Barely eleven minutes inside the second half, Aidoo finished off a freekick just outside the penalty area to make it 2-1 for Evergreens. Just as the sparse crowd thought Evergreens were going to run away with the three points at stake, striker Adu of United rifled home the equaliser from a goal-mouth action. The equaliser galvanised United, who launched a last minute onslaught and just on the stroke of full time Adu out-jumped his markers to nod home the winner from left full-back Victor Antwi's free kick. At the El-Wak Sports Stadium, Western Show Boys, Sekondi Eleven Wise, brightened their chances of joining the elite soccer next season when they trounced Upper West Heroes 4-0 in their match. Ironically, it was Heroes, who after the kick off piled pressure on Wise and nearly snatched the leader in the eighth minute when inside left Seidu Salia's beautiful shot hit the cross bar and went to touch. Wise repulsed the attack and deservedly got the leader through centre forward Ebo Mensah in the 15th minute. Heroes changed their pattern of game and came close to scoring in the 30th, 36th and 41st minutes but wasted all. Both teams resumed the second session with greater determination but it was Wise who scored three more goals through veteran inside left John Ainoo in the 50th, 65th and 87th minutes to seal the doom of the Wa boys.
