Police hunt for murderers of a farmer at Mpasatia

Mpasatia (Ash), May 19, GNA - A state of fear is gradually gripping the Atwima community, following the murder of people at various locations in the past four months believed to be for ritual purposes. The latest incident was the murder of a 50-year-old farmer, Kwaku Poku, whose body was found hanging on a tree branch in his farm at Mpasatia, near Nkawie with his hands, legs and some other parts removed. The Nkawie police have mounted an intensive search for the perpetrators while the chiefs and people of the Atwima district have also appealed to the District Security Committee (DISEC) to ensure the proper protection of the people of the district. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for autopsy.
