Police wage war on unregistered bikers and vehicles

Ghana Police has gone full scale on their quest to eradicate unregistered vehicles and motorcycles on the road as parts of efforts to minimise and check criminal incidents in the country.

In a statement signed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, their outfit revealed that a one hour special exercise in various parts of the capital and Tema brought about the confiscation of 149 unregistered motorbikes as well as 107 vehicles.

The Police also indicated that four suspects rounded up were also in possession of Indian hemp.

Special Operation

1. As part of the ongoing measures to check various acts of criminal incidents especially the use of unregistered motorbikes and vehicles on our roads, personnel from the various operational units from the Police Headquarters on Monday 17th July 2017 embarked on a special exercise in various parts of Accra and Tema.

2. During the four (4) hour exercise, 149 unregistered motorbikes and 107 unregistered vehicles were impounded.

3. Four (4) other suspects who were in possession of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were also arrested.

4. Meanwhile, the Police Administration wishes to assure the general public that the Service will continue to protect them as they go about their daily activities without fear or favour.
