Following the dismissal of the appeal filed by Accra Hearts of Oak against the three home match ban slapped on them by the Disciplinary Committee of GFA, Hearts begin their first home match on the away soil against Okwahu United at an unknown venue this Sunday.
Hearts had sought audience at the Appeals Committee on the grounds that the decision of the Disciplinary Committee was harsh, unfair, inconsistent and contradictory with the evidence adduced. “The decision of DC is clearly against the weight of evidence produced”, Hearts official fumed.
The Appeals Committee chaired by Justice I.R. Aboagye yesterday dismissed the appeal filed by Hearts on the grounds that it lacked further evidence and hence upheld the decision of the DC.
A painstaking investigation has revealed that Hearts have put together fresh evidence and are preparing to seek for Review.
According to Brong Ahafo Regional Organiser, Alhaji Hearts junior, the sanctions are not going to affect the performance of the team in any way. The home match ban is going to affect matches involving Okwahu United, Stay Cool and King Faisal.
It would be recalled that Kotoko protested against what they called maltreatment of their fans by Hearts. According to an official of FA, the sanctions applied to Hearts were in consonance with Article 40 of GFA Regulations.
