Fri, 16 Aug 2002 Source: Joy Online

Former President Rawlings is expected to appear before the investigative panel looking into his recent call for positive defiance against the government. JOY FM has learnt that the panel, which is trying to ascertain whether his comments are subversive and treasonable, has extended another invitation to him.

After being questioned a second time by the investigative panel on Wednesday, the former President came out to a milling crowd of NDC supporters, who had converged at the offices of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to show their support.

Investigations have revealed that the panel is demanding that the former President sign an undertaking not to make any public political comments. But the Chairman of the NDC’s Communication committee, John Mahama says Mr. Rawlings will not sign the undertaking.
