Demolition of old structures at the dilapidated Flagstaff House in Accra has started to pave the way for the construction of a new presidential complex.
The Ghanaian Times yesterday morning witnessed old buildings and trees being cleared on the large tract of land that will house the complex.
Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) of India are the contractors for the project, which is being financed with a 30-million dollar loan from the Government of India.
Actual construction is expected to start as soon as the clearing of the site is completed in the next few weeks.
