Tue, 19 Aug 1997 Source: --

Koforidua (E/R), Aug 18, - The Catholic Bishop of Koforidua, the Right Reverend Charles Palmer-Buckle, on Sunday ordained four new priests into the Church at a solemn ceremony at Effiduase, near Koforidua. The ordinands included Reverend Fathers Joseph Nkrumah Baidoo, Ernest Amoako-Opare, Charles Lawrence Amankwaa and Emmanuel Kwasi Debrah. The ordination ceremony climaxed a four-day diocesan Eucharistic Congress held at the Pope John's Secondary School and Junior Seminary under the theme ''One Bread, One Body, One Lord of All''. In a sermon, Bishop Palmer-Buckle charged the new priests to see their new role as a life-long devotion to the service of Jesus Christ, the Church and the entire flock. He asked them to emulate the sacrificial life of Jesus by not only preaching the word of God but through exemplary lifestyles. Bishop Palmer-Buckle told the priests to lead the people who come into contact with them to get salvation through their spiritual intercession and admonition.
