Some of the placards carried by the demonstrators read "Busumakora is not a Chief" and "Busumakora is no more Chief of Takoradi". Speaking to the press during the demonstration, Asafohene Kojo Korampong, leader of the Asafo Companies, said Okatakyi Busumakora, known in private life as Reverend Dr. Fiifi Quayson, has not been enstooled as chief of Takoradi.

He said the Takoradi stool is vacant because it is Asafo Companies that have the mandate and responsibility to enstool and destool a chief, according to the tradition and customs of the area, stressing that "they have not enstooled Okatakyi Busumakora as the Chief of Takoradi." Asafohene Korampong said that Okatakyi Busumakora was not properly enstooled chief, pretended to be the Chief of Takoradi and was not attending meetings of the traditional council. He said that the Asafo Companies were in favour of the destoolement of Okatakyi Busumakora to ensure peace, tranquillity and development of Takoradi. 30 May 10 Attention recipients, item 02 ends first cast.
