Carl Wilson to sue 'Daily Post'

Tue, 8 Jun 2010 Source: Daily Post

Car thief Carl Wilson is venturing into an area he will forever live to regret.

Intelligence signals picked up by The Republic suggest that the former Chairman of

the Confiscated Vehicles Allocation Committee (CVAC) is contemplating filing a

defamation suit against the editors of the Daily Post newspaper.

Sources hinted this paper that Carl Wilson intends to use lawyer Chris Ackummey as

his lead counsel.

According to our sources, the former CVAC boss has complained bitterly over

publications by the Daily Post which he holds have defamed him and thus lowered him

in the estimation of right thinking members of the Ghanaian society.

According to reports, Carl Wilson further claims the publications were mere

fabrications intended to damage his hard won reputation.

It is not readily known what remedies Carl Wilson will be demanding from the court.

However, sources hinted that Alex Segbefia’s boy will be demanding huge damages in

monetary terms and a perpetual injunction to restrain the newspaper from further

publishing defamatory matter about him.

It would be recalled that the Daily Post and this newspaper carried series of news

articles on Carl Wilson’s thievery at the ports.

His actions became a source of embarrassment to the Mills administration. With his

thievery coming to the fore, though his political godfathers tried to shield him,

President Mills four months ago stamped his authority and ordered his immediate

dismissal.

Carl Wilson was subsequently booted from the National Security apparatus as an

operative.

In reaction to his renewed threat to take legal actions, editors of Daily Post say

they cannot wait for the much talked about legal battle.

They promised to meet him squarely in any court of competent jurisdiction to see

“who is who”.

The editors also promised to open more cans of worms of Carl Wilson’s dirty deals at

the ports.
