Forty- two cases of tuberculosis were recorded between January and September this year at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital.

The hospital recorded 69 cases within the same period last year, Nana Stephen Nketia, disease control officer of the hospital, said this at the annual conference of the Christian Mboa Kuw, a social aid body, at Techiman.

The conference, which was attended by delegates from Wenchi, Offuman, Beposo, Asuogya, Kintampo, Dotobaa and Techiman, was aimed at sensitising members on AIDS, tuberculosis and other communicable diseases.

Mr Nketia, secretary of the Mboa Kuw, told the delegates that tuberculosis was deadly, but was preventable so they should report all symptoms of chest infection to the hospital.

On HIV/AIDS, he urged them to lead exemplary lives
