The Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) has expressed concern over the seeming inaction of government to resolve grievances it harbours over the Single Spine Pay Policy (SSPP).

It says a cabinet sub-committee recommendation is yet to be complied with by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).

The committee constituted by the Chief of Staff, presented its report on June 28, 2013.

“This inaction in our view defeats the purpose of setting up the committee, and the committee’s work as the channel to decisively conclude our concern with the SSSS,” Stephen Corquaye, the National Chairman of GHOSPA told journalists in Accra.

Mr Corquaye said members are getting frustrated that eight months down the line, no action has been taken by the presidency on the report.

The report recommended that GHOSPA members are paid the appropriate Conversion Difference while the wholesale payment of the interim market premium is stopped.

GHOSPA last year staged the longest strike in the history of Ghana from April 8, 2013 to June 18, 2013.
