They are worse than football fans, football fans don't interrupt the game, they jubilate when a goal is scored but that was not what happened in parliament recently, what happened was a disgrace that should not be compare to anything in the world, you can only compare that to violent demonstration.
Also we should try as much as we can to limit the time for that event to a maximum of two hours including all activities, president speaking for over four hours is just too much, they can summarise what the president has to say, to keep visitors including diplomats in that room for over four hours just doesn't make sense.

We are under economic shackles all because of NDC incompetent and corrupt government. We had eight years of NPP government and times were certainly better for us than we have found ourselves in under the seven years of GYEEDA,SUBAH,SADA,NSS and least of all Woyome stealling from us a whopping fifty one million.
The NDC and its head corruptible Mahama must give way to the NPP.
At least if I am poor but the sacrifice is giving all children in Ghana some free education then my sacrifice is worth it.
We have nothing to call home and tell mama about in the sad state of Ghana economy. Give us a break Mr.Mahama and your incompetent NDC.

Anybody who carefully studied our constitution would realize that it was made to sustain dictatorship, and that's why I call it Rawlings Green Book. From the horse's own month represented by Bagbin, the hands and legs of our parliament are tied by the constitution to render it ineffective. We can't be proud and say that we have separation of powers in our system because the parliament is deliberately made to be a tool and decoration for the executive.
Our system is neither parliamentary nor presidential because the former has a prime minister (first among equals) who sits in parliament with his ministers only chosen from it and shares the chamber with the opposition and its leader for face to face deliberation of policies. The parliamentary system has its own checks and balances embedded in it. The presidential system on the other hand, is based on strict separation of powers (Executive, Legislature and Judiciary) to check the executive president with vast powers from abusing those powers, which are not available to the prime minister who governs through the parliament and not outside of it as the executive president does.
In Ghana, we have an executive presidential system without the needed checks and balances to prevent abuse because our parliament is shackled by the constitution to serve as another organ of the executive. I believe it was deliberately done to serve the dictatorial tendencies of Rwalings, and I blame Rawlings and his PNDC Cuban-Style Communist Dictatorship for all these shortcomings in our constitution.
The mere fact that members of the Council of State are appointed by the sitting president and leave office when he leaves renders them ineffective, far more ineffective than the parliamentarians.

I think the comment by Prof Adei is misplaced. This is not how he should approach the situation. Describing the prez and MPs as behaving like football fans is not the appropriate words to be used. Prof has traveled to a lot of countries and this is a common phenomenon in most parliaments. I am happy about the way the minority and the Majority side acted with much professionalism. If prof has soon forgotten let me remind him of what happen recently when Prez. Jacob Zuma delivered his state of the nation's address. It is unfortunate that prof used such words to describe the first gentleman of the land and MPs.
