Nobody has to tell us that Jon Mahama is a stupid fool. How could you inaugurate sugar factory without sugarcane? You see, sometimes you think I say we have a stupid man for president for the sake of saying, but to be frank we have a foolish idiot who calls himself a president. Nana Addo or Papa Kwasi Induom would have thought about the sugarcane first before the sugar factory being renovated. First of, the factory was built by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkruma. He made sure sugrcane was planted all over the area to feed the factory. Now we have a fool as president. He uses our money to rebrand our age old sugar factory and make it seem as though he is the one who initiated the idea of building a sugar factory. We have a fool as president and he lives in Ghana. His name is ofui jon mahama.

This is why I say NDC people are dumb asses without brains. Per your logic, what will you do with the money spent on the factory and it's machines if there are no guaranteed large source of market? Do you know how much sugar Ghanaians consume on a given day? This factory alone won't even be enough to feed Ghanaians, besides, all the countries around us need sugar. We have millions of young men in Ghana who need jobs and have only resorted to lottery as their last hope. This stupid Mahama keeps borrowing money for stupid stuff he calls infrastructure. Africans are idiots, they do the same thing across Europe and the Americas, using credit cards like assholes and running away from debts. How can you keep borrowing without thinking about how you spend and how much you earn? Only a fool like Mahama will do something like that.

Now you see, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was the only intelligent and thinkable president to rule a nation, but its because of hatred, tribalism, and ethnics, the criminals and the terrorist in the country at the time never understood him, turn themselves to bomb throwing, killing, until finally was overthrown, that started the long road for our suffering till today. The lies the Mate meh/Up were leveling against Nkrumah`s regime in the 60s that we saw is the same thing we are experiencing in this present Government. NPP has no agenda only spreading false lies to Ghanaians. J. B. Danquah`s spreading lies to Ghanaians in the 50s, earned him 1.99% vote cast when he stood for presidency in 1956 with Nkrumah, Danquah had no election manifesto and message for Ghanaians. infrastructures Nkrumah was putting on in the country which people of Ghana witnesses, Danquah was also telling them it is not happening, whilst the people see with their eyes, the same thing Akofo Addo and his co-horts are doing today.

If you were intelligent you would know that the Tate suger is manufactured in Britain essentially with BEET grown in the United Kingdom and not with raw sugarcane. The very small amount of sugarcane extracts needed to top up the quantity of raw material needed is imported from the British Carribeans at a very low price. Sugarcane grows in Ghana, so what is the intelligence in importing it to fead a Sugar factory in Ghana. Only insane people will want to import sugarcane to manufacture sugar in Ghana. Good argument on both sides. Unlike the politicians who jump to the media to score their cheap popularity points, the other sides get buried in the fine prints.
Weather putting the horse before the cart or the cart before the horse, there should be lots of things to consider. Most of the equipment for the factory had to be imported, unlike the European factories. These are going to be at the mercy of our environment and our "maintenance system" whilst we look for the raw material. Does the gov't have any plans in place to provide the necessary raw materials to the factory? "Jobs" only become reality when they add value to society or societal needs. Meanwhile, we have a loan plus accruing interest to pay for. The next gov't comes in power and calls the project non-performing, off-loads it cheap to their members and cronies but the loan remains the responsibility of the gov't. Just wish our politicians will sit down for once and consider the country instead of just their myopic needs or desires.

If you have noticed that there are there are no sugar canes to feed the factory, then you have got a niche - and that is a big opportunity for you: set up big sugar cane plantation and become a supplier of theraw material for the Kommenda Sugar Factory. The factory cannot certainly go into sugar cane plantation but depend on supplies from every raw material supplier.

@James: This is just ridiculous the way some of us think. You must be assured of a steady raw material supply before putting up the factory. This is so simple but because of fanatic politics, most of us won't understand . This goes not only for the sugar factory but also the tomato & meat factories. Let's all open our minds for such discussion . Are we going to import sugar cane for the Komenda factory ? At what cost? Exchange rate fluctuations vis a vis our poor cedi? Can we sell at a profit on the local market if the basic raw materials are imported? Jobs lost to an agro-based economy like ours by importing the raw materials? Dr. Nduom is making a lot sense by drawing our attention to this simple truth. We don't have to be graduates of Oxford or Harvard to acknowledge what Dr. Nduom is putting across . Indeed we don't need a Dr (Nduom) to tell us this . We should know this ourselves.

I am surprised you said you live in Germany. They are big time chocolate factories in Germany but do they grow cocoa.
I respect Dr Nduom a lot but never expected something like this from him. First, the factory can create jobs for our unemployed graduates who want to venture into sugar cane business with support from micro financial institutions. Second, I don't anything wrong with importing of the sugar cane from another country try which may have comparative advantage in the production of sugar cane. If we buy the raw materials from outside and add value to it by turning it high quality sugar can export it to other countries.
Please Dr. Nduom, you are very respected man so do not like others and criticise for nothing.

Farmers should have the assurance from the Factory through sensitization workshops for Farmers to cultivate the raw material and the assurance to to buy.Cost per Ton,expected inception Date of Supply/Delivery,etc.
The above processes is more than necessary b'cos if it's Management Decision to import a Value Added Raw Material( liquid sugarcane) to feed the Factory, not one Stick of Sugarcane would be bought from Ghana.Unless the agreement has Local Content percentage of Sugarcane Purchase from Farmers. Therefore,it's only a fool who would start to cultivate that high concentrate of Sugarcane which will not yield and Dividend. There was a time people invested in large acreage of farmlands in Cashew,Sunflower (seeds), pineapple, etc, that did not yielded any Dividend.Anyway.

The Government is to provide infrastructure for development. The Govt has built a sugar factory for the people of Central Region to take advantage and grow sugar canefor sale to the factory. Is this so hard for Dr Ndoum to understand? Politics has actually blinded some Ghanaians that they criticize every move by the ruling Party. At the time the Factory was being rehabilitated, a good businessman that Ndoum says he is should have given loans to the local farmers to start their sugar plantations. An NDC Govt is flowing after the footsteps of Dr Kwame Nkrumah and some Nkrumahists are beefed because it is not them. Ndoum please swallow your petty jealousy and envy.

The discussions about the viability of the Komenda factory should have all been sorted out at the feasibility stage and all issues ironed out.
All in the name of democracy!!!!!!!
You wait until the factory is up then you begin questioning things that should have been carried out long ago.

This is in of the most idiotic "lectures" I have heard from Mr. Doctor Nduom. This is the area the private partnership plays. If you have seen that the factory has no raw material, why don't you establish big commercial farms to produce the sugar cane to feed the factory instead of empty talking for cheap popularity which we all know you are very good at. Yes, we know you. You want, you want some other people to do that and after selling the sugar you jump in there to manage the money for them. If they don't allow you, you'll find another case to destroy them to make you look brainy and smart. Mr. Doctor, you talk too much with little done. All you are good at is take control of other people's money with your name on it as if it belongs to you.
Let us see real and concrete action from you this time. The factory is in your own neighbourhood

Elvis Takyi, you're a lazy idiot with a pea brain. This is an excellent opportunity that has been created by the government for people to go into sugar cane plantation farming like cocoa farming. This is good business opportunities for the youth who are looking for employment to start their own business by going into group farming with loans which blockheaded Nduom could have contributed to but all he is doing is discouraging the very people who would size the opportunity. We're where we're because of our negative thoughts. We always want manna to fall from heaven. How is Mauritius doing it? Stupid Nduom stop the discouragement. That's cheap politics.

Indigenes of KEEA and all well meaning Ghanaians should support this factory to be profitable. This should create employment for the people around the area and beyond. It is very pathetic to see indegenes travel as far as Liberia to seek greener pastures. Some come to Accra to seek unexisting jobs and hustle.I met a young man from within the perimeter radius who has completed school but opted to be a drivers mate because Accra could not meet his expectations. The days of "the job not being for your father must stop.A strategic factory at each region looking at the raw material potential of the area will decongest the capital city and bring progress to where a project is sited. The raw material may not be there today but if we mean proper business we can put all hands on deck to let it happen within 8months.Papa Kwesi Ndoum help the people around to make it happen. My only fear is that the people of fanteland do not want to put their hands to the plough and this is creating hunger and poverty around them. The days of white collar jobs are over lets make do with what we have at the moment to put money in our pockets.I know what i am saying;in fact a cousin of mine set up a plantation around the area and the hands who were to support and be paid were very apathetic hence making him frustrated and disappointed.

Mr Nduom, your argument is a bit hollow and naïve. You are actually saying that govt is building a sugar factory and don't know where the raw materials will be sourced? This is cheap, nonsensical talk. Would it not be better if you rather urged people to start growing sugar cane to make a living as there is going to be a demand for it, instead of wasting time asking where the sugar cane will come from.
Just because you don't have the information does not mean it does not exist. No govt will embark on a project on this scale without knowing where the raw materials will be sourced from. Please let us have more constructive argument and less of this meaningless noise.

The issue of an American commercial sugar farmer who was literally chased away by these NDC greedy folks mid 90's will surely come back to haunt them...and big time. When these farmers came to purchase those factories and cultivate their own sugar cane to feed their factories, coupled with the help from villages around, no, the NDC and Atta Mills refused to even listen to them.Of course they were not going to make anyone a compulsory shareholder as those Lebanese sugar importers had promised noted figures in the NDC.They left.Eventually it was sold to an unknown company who literally tore the steel metal beams and the roofing sheets and sold them as scrap.hope the elders and people in the area still remember the agony they were put through back then.
Now they borrow money from India..only God knows how much...to build a factory without the commercial Indian farmers. What is government business in borrowing money to build a factory when private businesses were willing to do so! How much money was actually borrowed because it seems to me the money mentioned here is far smaller than what was earlier quoted.Akuffo Addo would be a fool and do a great disservice to this country if he wins coming elections and let these people roam our streets with their stinky filthy I'll gotten wealth!

For the information of all of you and in particular Mr Ndoum, sugar cane is a seasonal crop. The start of sugar cane harvest in Ghana I understand is October. This was the month the factory was scheduled to be completed. However due to the diligence of the Indian contractors the factory was completed five months in ahead of schedule. So naturally the raw material will not be available. I do sugar business from Brazil and so I am very well informed about the seasonal nature of the sugar cane harvest in Brazil. We as buyers always insist on new crop sugar when we make contracts so we ensure that our contracts meet the harvest season to enable us get the new crop sugar. So there is nothing wrong with there being no sugarcane at present.

No need for insults and all the lambasting and the rest! This is where the blaCKMAN GETS STUCK! The whiteman would ask ; how can I take advantage of such a situation? If I have the money and energy I'll go to komenda or in the vicinity and ask the chiefs to give me land (lease or for sale).Instead of planting sugarcane, which needs much more water, I would cultivate tropicalised sugarbeet, this takes less water and could be harvested at least twice in the year ( with proper planning, thrice) and even uses less area and easier to harvest and even not so uncomfortable! These Indians who built the plant know of these facts, infact they tropicalized the seedlings of the sugarbeet to suit their climatic conditions in parts of their main sugar producing projects! If Nduom and other people are really serious and honest about their statement of helping to make this sugarfactory a success, this could be an option instead of ridiculing or embarassing the stakeholders! Its about time Ghanaians stop this rather ridiculous behaviour of always blasting the govt at any available chance just for criticism sake and nothing else!We Ghanaians want everything to fall into our laps without doing anything for it. Free this, free that, "Alaha" , "Awuff no get bone" That is our motto and the political parties are fighting over this stupid "motto"! In Gold Coast/Ghana, when we were paying for things, there was quality and less "kalabule"! Our schools were better, our hospital services were better at the ports things were better; because we knew you had to pay for what you want , and get what you pay for! Paying for things is in our blood, that is why people still pay for better education or health etc although the public institutions are free! The govt cannot do everything , the citizens also have to play their part! The corruption that we all talk about is not the govts problem alone!99% OF GHANAIANS ARE CORRUPT AND ARE GUILTY OF ALL THE CRIMES THAT THEY ACCUSE THE GOVT OF! IT'S ABOUT TIME GHANAIANS WOKE UP FROM THEIR LETHARGY AND STARTED BEING INNOVATIVE AND MORE PRODUCTIVE! THE HOT AIR IS TOO MUCH AND POLITICS IS NOT THE ONLY PROFESSION IN GHANA , WAKE UP GHANAIANS!!!!

An intelligent person plans for the raw materials to be ready a little earlier before the factory is ready to process the sugar cane. This is for the purpose of building stock so that the factory is not idle. No sensible person would spend money to build a factory and keep it idle. It is just stupid to do so. An idle factory will also cost you money, because you will still have to pay labour cost, security, miscellaneous expenses etc. So, If this government says that 7000 jobs will be created then it certainly must include growers. To ensure a steady supply of canes, you can not rely on cutlasses and hoes! You need commercial growers with large tracts of land to farm the canes. 7000 jobs to be created? I'm trying not to laugh at this president and his bunch of idiots! What kind of machinery have they bought for the factory? Maybe their plan is to have human muscles squeezing the juice from the canes! A standard automated sugar factory running 24x7 would need not more that 100 people ie 100 jobs. If their plan is to have 6900 farmers on half an acre each of land cultivating sugar canes, I'm sorry to say they will soon find that they can't call that a job! Where is the plan? Dr Ndoum is asking the questions every Ghanaian should be asking? This government must provide the answers to assure us that they are actually wise and working for us! Just telling us that you have opened a factory that will create 7000 jobs without the details is actually an insult to our collective intelligence!

There are chocolate factories in western countries. But do such countries have even one single cocoa tree growing there? The answer is a big 'NO'! So where do they get raw cocoa to feed their chocolate industries? They get their raw cocoa beans from Ivory Coast, Ghana, etc. So if the sugar factory cannot get enough sugar cane, why shouldn't smart business men and women cash in and go into sugar cane production and sell their raw material (sugar cane) to the factory? Do we need rocket scientists to advise us on this? It's a golden opportunity for the unemployed to consider going into sugar cane production because the market and the demand will be there! One may not necessarily have to start in a big way; a modest beginning could be ok.

That way we all can make constructive criticism to move Ghana forward. God bless Ghana and Ghanaians. I also think Dr. Nduom has raised a pertinent issue and I think the stake holders should have a very good answers. Nduom just pointed out some companies like the tomato and fish processing outfits which are under performing yet we have fertile lands all over Ghana for tomato plantation. Thing is that growing sugarcane to feed a factory that is expected to provide 7000 jobs is not a small joke. I believes what Nduom is trying to point out is the should put measures in place to ensure sustainability so that this project won't just fizzle out. Please we are talking about Ghana in Africa not Germany in Europe.

I am seriously surprised. This man too wants to become our president, God have mercy on Ghana.
I have to withdraw all my investments from gold coast securities period. Don't these developed economies have all the factories in their respective countries and depend on Africa for raw material . Come back again dr. Ndoum
There are chocolate factories in western countries. But do such countries have even one single cocoa tree growing there? The answer is a big 'NO'! So where do they get raw cocoa to feed their chocolate industries? They get th ...

It's all politics on the side of the government, in fact it's a strategy being applied to maximised victory in the in coming elections. However, both the planning and the timing are miscalculated and will contribute to their ...

Is my prayer that this man becomes our president oneday
Instead of advising the youth to take advantage of the factory and go into sugracane farming, he is rather going round discouraging profitable projects. Do you know what went into the revival of the factory? Hmmmm Nduom
This is like putting the cart b4 de horse. One will have thought that investing first in the production of sugarcane or creating the awareness for the people to cultivate sugarcane while de building of de factory was ongoing ...

How do u convince someone to grow sugar cane when there is no available market. Now that there is a factory its easy for any serious farmer to go into sugar cane
Now the people will respond to the market
whether the material first or the factory, what Dr. Nduom should no is that, there's a start. Let us rather address our questions to how we can together find the raw material rather than faulting the project.
Is that the Reason u mischievously bought the land around the factory for the construction of ur University? Is he also saying that the people of komenda didn't need the factory? Am sure when u shave ur mustache we can grow ...

Kwesi Nduom actually asking relevant questions. In the 60sand 70s from Asutsuare to Akuse Somanya and beyond was sugar plantation to feed Asutsuare Sugar factory. Source of the raw material very important for the factory
Did you see the money before you established your bank?
comparing sugarcane factory to a gold refiney, suggest to me that many ghanaians have thinking deficit syndrome (TDS ) lol.
With most of the KEEA lands appropriated by Ndoum for Groupe Ndoum's projects where will the sugarcane be grown?
Sugar cane plant + water + carbon dioxide + sunshine + soil + labor = raw material for the factory.
What is not understood about this? The implication is the raw material can be produced anywhere in Ghana. Transport the sug ...

I think it is high time this man stop disturbing President Mahama achievement.
Why? It is getting out hand. Meanwhile he is no where near the presidency too
Esi I doff my heart to u for the best intelligent comments so far. Dr Indoom can also also use some of his wealth to invest in sugarcane production to support this factory in his home area. More of such comments.
Foolish man and selfish man like you.Do you want to tell the Ghaniaans that you bought your TELEVISION SET before BUILD or RENT a ROOM???????Go to hell and rout to ashes.
Go grow the sugar cane, Paa Kwesi Nduom!
You have the resources to provide some of the required sugar cane. This would be a practical way to support the project. After all, it is sited in your constituency KEEA. And surely ...
