The Doctor needs to research why Pregnant women eat clay. The fact that even women from rich families crave for the clay dismisses the doctor's claim that pregnant women eat clay becuase of poverty and famine.

Humans walked this earth for millions of years before the advent of modern medicine. Yet whatever health practices are not covered by the medical books get vigorously rejected by medical professionals without reservation.
Does anybody know why villagers are living longer than their cousins living cities full of doctors?

Pregnancy with the tendencies to crave for unprintable weird things,some of the women not to disgrace themselves,eat that type of Clay in a negligible quantity like your finger tip for what it can do- to subside the cravings and also heartburn(I sand corrected).The Story is presented to suggest that,pregnant women eat Clay in hunger,in Substitution for food. That Statement is not a true reflection of the use of the Clay by pregnant women and therefore, beref of the reasons and uses of that Clay.I lay emphasis on the fact that no one eat Clay as food in the Country. Women are more than aware that the Clay lacks nutrients but what it can do to ease their carvings.Give us a break.

However to spread scare mongering to prove ur point is counterproductive.How can u possibly say that amongst other things that Calcium is bad for ur teeth. These women eat clay becos they lack some minerals. It better to test.them and find out ehat minerals they lack rather than scaring.them.

I know it also causes Bacteria Vanogiatis(BV) commonly called "White" in Ghana. it is so severe and almost impossible to treat. The smell from it is so foul that most of relationship breakups are attributed to it
