The Ghana National Fire Service has described as untrue reports of a mass resignation in the service.

According to the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the service, such reports are intended to cause public disaffection for the Chief Fire Officer.

Media reports suggest that over four hundred officers of the Fire Service have resigned over poor working conditions. The said officers, according to the reports, are accusing the Chief Fire Officer Dr. Albert Brown Gaisey of pocketing their rent allowance and engaging in illegal sale of their uniforms and boots.

But Prince Billy Anaglatey in an interview with Starr News said the claims are unfounded.

“Sincerely, I can say for a fact that there is absolutely nothing like people tendering their resignation.

"There is no iota of truth in it. We have the rent allowance that has been used as a revolving money that people are given and deducted at source and after those people have paid, then it goes to another group so its revolving and it’s not true that the Chief Fire Officer has pocketed the money," he stressed.
