A good leader who is in control of his government should be able to meet the press and answer all questions of his administration and the economy. The fact that Akufo-Addo brought his ministers along to meet the press clearly shows our President has no clue in what goes on in his government.
In advance democracies Presidents spend hours if not days in preparation before they meet the press, and they don't fill the room with their ministers, especially the lying toad Bawumia. Meet the press is the day the President demonstrates to the nation his grasp of the issues of the nation and his solutions for them. Akufo-Addo did not come across as a President who is in control of his government, and like all post 1992 Constitution Presidents he is clueless.
But the most ignoble award of the occasion goes to ghanaweb.com. Those duds at ghanaweb displayed their utmost stupidity and ignorance by showing the back of those who asked the President questions. Common sense always eludes the Ghanaian journalists. Wouldn't be easier to mount the camera where the President was stood to capture the face of those who were asking the questions?

Question(s): Mr. President, one of the things you complained about was the fact that corruption was so endemic in the country during the previous administration. Being in government for six months, I have not seen a single person standing prosecution for some of these things. Is it the case you are waiting for the Special Prosecutor’s office to be set up or you are still gathering evidence?

Question of the year.
"Good afternoon, my name is Bernard Avle, I work at Citi FM. Mr President, I remember during the campaign, yourself and the Vice President expressed worry about the level of debt that Ghana was incurring and among other things you said that because of the mismanagement we were having to borrow and then we have enough internal resources and therefore we should block the loopholes.
Permit me to give you some figures, in March this year we went for Ghc1billion 3-year bond. In April a $2.25billion dollar bond which translates into Ghc10.25 was announced. In the same month, we announced a $2.4million bond to clear legacy debts in the energy sector, translates that to Ghc12billion.
Last week we were told there is a Ghc17.4billion bond being sought for T3. Putting all the figures together in Ghana cedis, that’s about Ghc40billion if all these bonds go through.
The last time I checked our GDP was about Ghc80billion. If within the first quarter of the first year we are already borrowing up to half of our GDP. Where are the internal resources, how much resources have you generated internally, why are we still borrowing this much. Thank you."

Ghanaian media personnel have really exhibited their state of substandard crass incompetence and their highly disoriented state of the critical mindset they need to interrogate national issues well yesterday. There were only four or five of them who asked standardized and reasonably thought -provoking questions that a reasonable media man of any standard could ask. 1)Evans Mensah of Joy Fm posed a very reasonable and critical question with regards to the BOST issue. 2) Bernard Avle of Cities Fm asked a very brilliant questions backed by statistics as regards the economy and recent borrowing. 3)Nana Akua Afriyie of EIB network was very brilliant about NPP dealings with the Italian energy company ENI after they had denigrated the same company whilst in opposition. 4) Nana Aba Anamoah of GhoneTv was brilliant as well with her question. Perhaps the GBC guy Moon en's question was also pretty good. As for Nana Baffour Asare Acheampong's (KABA) question, it was the most useless and unintelligent question of the entire encounter yesterday. All the while, I thought, that guy was a brilliant guy until yesterday, when I realized that, the guy was an intellectual midget, a crap, a trash and shallow minded guy who cannot even compete in among the Kingdargatens. Another was the lady AFIA POKUA of Adom Fm VIM LADY, the least said about her the better. Read the thing she presented as a question carefully, Whether it is a navigation bearing moving from the cardinal points North-east, landing at South- west no one can tell. What a question at all, was she trying to ask on that big platform, no one can tell what the VIM LADY wants to ask, yet it was the same lady who was on air a night earlier making all the ugly noise, people should forward her brilliant questions to ask on their behalf. Yet the girl could not simply construct a simple critical reasonable and specific question to ask on behalf on the people? Ghana media is far far far behind.

Bernard Avle's question, imo was misplaced or better still incomplete. What he should have done was to link his question with the Auditor General's mandate, the position of the law and the Supreme Court's judgment concerning the issue of surcharge, in the matter brought before the Court by OccupyGhana and found out if the Auditor General was executing the judgment of the Court? And whether President had given him any targets, and if those targets were being monitored for compliance given the fact that from their own report, billions of cedis was expected to be in the national purse but the contrary was the case. Then he could then end with his main question of the bonds that were being raised which he described as debt.
And finally, if the Auditor General was not complying with the orders of the Court, and exercising it's mandate, what was the action govt intended to take, to bring that office in conformity with the law, it's mandate and the express determination of the Court?
That would have made for a much more weighty question than what he asked. It lacked punch honestly.
