Ghana midfielder Kingsley Sarfo has lodged his defence against his alleged rape case involving three underage girls in Sweden.
Sarfo was suspended indefinitely by his Swedish club Malmo FF after he was arrested on Tuesday on new rape charges.
The midfielder was re-arrested on Tuesday by Persecutor Richard Darrell following fresh charges involving two girls below the ages of 15. According to reports, the Malmo FF attacking enforcer has made the lawyer file that he admits to having had sex with the girls but did not know they were underage.
“Kingsley admits that he had sex with the girls but said he was not aware of how young they were” his lawyer Jan-Anders Hybelius told Kvällsposten.
“We have not decided whether to appeal against that aspect.”
Sarfo could spend at least five years in jail in the Scandinavian country and deported to Ghana afterward if his appeal is not taken.
