The Yilo Krobo Senior High School in the Eastern Region has at a colourful ceremony on Friday 4th, October, 2019 welcomed 393 first years students of the green track into its fold to undertake the study of various courses.
Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Gadagbui-Dzadey who welcomed the students said it was a real opportunity to belong to the YIKROSEC family since it offered lots of openings and networks for personal growth and love.
Mrs. Gadagbui-Dzadey in admonishing the students to take their studies seriously said hard work which was the prerequisite for success could not be compromised. “You know why you are here. You must take your studies seriously in order to succeed,” said the headmistress.
She urged the inductees to maintain the high standards of the Yilo Krobo Senior High School by respecting the school’s rules and regulations.
Though the headmistress did not mention any serious challenges confronting the school, the nevertheless said the school’s arms were widely opened to philanthropists who wanted to assist the school in any way.
Assistant chaplain of the school, Rev Francis Adzo in exulting the fresh boys and girls reiterated the call for strict adherence to the school’s rules and regulations as well as respect for school authorities.
The school chaplain who quoted Deuteronomy 30:15-20 to buttress his counsel to the students urged them to “choose life and live,” adding that fruitful years on campus would produce flying colours for them.
The induction graced with splendid performances from the school’s cadet and choir, saw the students being sworn in to undergo various fields of study of their choices.
The first semester of the 2019/2020 academic year for senior high school (SHS) forms one and two began on September 15, 2019.
With the computerized school selection placement system still ongoing, more students are expected to report to the school in the coming days.
