  This move is political, without considering the economy. I can predict that utility tarrifs will be hiked after the election to recoupe all the losses they would have incurred from the subsidies.

  If Chad can afford free water and electricity to Chadians, then it is a welcome move. But it should not be a flash in a pan or for ulterior political moves as Wopana Akuffo Addo has done in Ghana.
