Even the Arab countries that dumped this religion on Africans do not go around acting like Dark Age crusaders. Northern Nigeria is just like Afghanistan when it comes to matters of religious fanaticism.

  Morons in a nation of morons being led by a moron. When individuals refuse to perform religious rights, will forcing them make them actually perform that right or will they pretend to perform the right? It is only Moslems that worship a god that depends on humans to punish other humans for non-compliance of religious. Probably they themselves do not believe in the power of the god they worship so they had to move around forcing people to comply. What a shame.

That said, I don’t think anyone shd be forced to go through or perform a religious ritual. People should have the right to choose between what is good for them or not, or even just be lukewarm Muslims if they so desire. It’s not a cult! I guess Islam is different

And in places with this mentality, the citizens very often are left lagging behind their fellow citizens in terms of development in parts of the countries where such blind adherence to religious practices do not exist.
