  Rema certainly does not fit into the history of "Afrobeat" culturally, but gained prominence doing his own version of Afrobeat which he chose to call Afrorave. Whoever is familiar with Nigeria will attest to the facts that the roots of Afrobeat is culturally rooted in the South Western Nigeria and Rema chose to do Afrobeat with his little influence on a larger musical market decides to create a Afrorave which will never fly beyond his local enclave in Nigeria.
