  The command of circumcision was given to Abraham as a sign of God's unique relationship with Abraham and his seed after him. He was circumcised when he was at age 99 yrs while every male child through the loins of Abrahem was circumcised on the eighth day. At the time of Paul during the first century AD.. Early Jewish Christians called Judaist,, practitioners of the Jewish religion and Christianity taught that unless one was circumcised he cannot be saved from his sins. He set the record straight that salvation from sin is not conditioned on outward circumcision or any other external rituals like praying,, ablution or extetnal washings, sacrifices, fastings, observance of new. moons, sabbaths, holidays or giving tithes or money to the poor. Rather salvation from sin is full and free and is obtainable onlyby God's grace through repentance from sin and faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ shed at Calvary for the remission of the sins all men both Jews and Gentiles. For whosover shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Male circumcision is appropriate for human hygiene only it does not confer on any one special right to salvation from the sin question. The sin question is dealt with by Christ suffering, death, burial and resurrection for every man.
