  Good question. It will only when some of our miseducated fools in government begin to think right. Ethiopia had no visionary leaders when they entered into an agreement for Eritrea's independence. Being landlocked, Ethiopia could have ceded some territory to Eritrea in exchange for one of the two ports that Eritrea controls, and it won't now be trying desperately to have access to a port. Eritrea will not now agree to let Ethiopia have one of its two ports, and the reasonable thing for Ethiopia to do is enter into a long term agreement with Eritrea for access to its ports for commercial purposes only. These two countries have experienced a devastating famine that has seen many of their citizens seek refuge in Europe, the USA and elsewhere. One will think that after engaging in a protracted war that caused so much loss in human lives, the leaders of these two countries will know better to engage dialogue that will encourage bilateral trade between them instead of wasting scares resources on weapons that serve them nothing but headaches.
