2 Face 2 Face Idibia, the rising Nigerian musician with a unique voice, exceptional song-writing talent and loads of sex appeal will be among the select guest performers at Saturday?s 6th Ghana Music Awards in Accra.

His African Queen having been named at number eight of BBC?s All-Time Best African songs, and himself having recently walked away with two Channel O Music Awards, perhaps there is no musician best suited for Saturday?s event.

Matching 2Face on home ground will be Rex Omar, the fine lyricist and acoustic sound enthusiast who is one of the very few contemporary musicians to have committed his art totally to live music.

Quite a plateful of guest artistes on the Music Awards bill. A night of international music collaborations, the ceremony will feature Tic Tac and Tony Tetuila, Obour and Papa Shanty, Castro and FBS, Josh Laryea and Agnes Opoku Agyemang, K.K. Fosu and Kofi Nti, among other artistes from across the West African sub region including Zainab from Benin and Christy B from Cote d?Ivoire.

With this year?s theme ?Celebrating the Ghanaian artiste?, the organisers, Charter House, say they are dedicating Saturday?s red-carpet ceremony to commemorate the stardom of today?s music artistes, and are arranging for them to arrive at the venue in stretch limousines and four wheel drive vehicles.

The weekend-long celebrations include the invitation-only GMA Nominees Dinner Ghana Night tonight; a workshop for stakeholders in the music industry on Friday and the presentation ceremony on Saturday.

The Ghana Music Awards is by courtesy of Gulder, Western Union, Spacefon-Areeba, Unique Trust and supported by TV3, Emefa Jewellery, City Phones, Novotel, Adom FM and KPMG ? event statisticians.

Gulder is particularly proud to be associated with this year?s awards. An official of Gulder told Showbiz that for the last few years, Gulder has been very much involved in the development and promotion of the music industry through the sponsorship of music events, shows and awards in Ghana.

?As brand achievers, Gulder?s sponsorship of this year?s edition of Ghana Music Awards is a way of connecting with its target consumers and also celebrating achievers and budding talents in Ghana?s music industry?, the official said.
