To those who mised out at Kwehu this easter season, this is a bit of it from the ace group as hip life fans couldn't resist Akatekyie's wonderful performances on top of the mountain.It was a big surprise to those who percieved that they were out from the industry.The groups performance with a mix of their old and the current album was just a bomb and an unexpected explosion.
Hiplife gurus pharoah and cobby culture who make up the Akatekyie group were in their element once again at Abetifi on a stage mount by hi fm, a carnival at Obomeng which was also powered by Adom 106.3 fm and Zain, and a surprising one at the Ohene nana classic in Mpraso over the weekened all in the name of entertaining their fans this easter season and also to make them aware of their existence in the hip life industry.
The group who have have just release their sixth succesful album and are promoting it massively on radio and at events in told flex newspaper that they it was just the begining and that they were going to give more of such spetacular performances this time.They also said they were aware most of their fans have this feeling that the group Akatekyie exists no more and thought this easter season was the right time to bring back the spirit of their fans and make them aware they were alive and still the Akatekyie they knew back in the 90's and the early 2000.
“this year is a blessful year and everything should go in the right direction.I guess we've "starved" our fans for long and it's high time we give them what they deserve as far as good hip life music is concern." Fire 1 said.
According to the group who have been silent in the industry for almost 4years, they are now working with Dompreh’s production and are out with their sixth album but were about to officially out door it nationwide. They said the album will be dedicated to the orphanage in the country. “we will be touring all the orphanage homes in the country and will be donating something to them. It always good to remember this children every year.”the group disclosed.
Pharoah who has now changed name to Fire 1 again revealed that their visit to the orphanage this year will be part of activities to mark their 10years in the music industry. He also hinted that their sixth album is to tell Ghanaians especially fans that their silence in the industry was a decision they took to deliver nothing but good music for the people of this country. “The album is indeed a bomb and all the 12 tracks on the cd are nothing but hit tracks. We are even having difficulties in selecting a title track for the album because we don’t know which one to use.” They said.
Cobby also came in to reveal that in their efforts as musicians in national development they will be touring all the ten regions in the country to educate the youth on farming through music since it the best way they can help develop this country as musicians. “Though we will be doing this alongside launching of our sixth album in the ten regions very soon, our main aim is to be the farming ambassadors of this country so they can help the government achieve it’s aim of omproving the agricultural sector. As youth’s we will make sure we draw the youth’s attention to Agriculture and we are doing that through our music this year.” they hinted.
The ace musicians also prompted all their fans to watch out for Akatekyie’s massive come back because what happened at Kwehu this easter was just a start of their spetacular things which are about to be enjoyed by their fans and hiplife enthusiasts.They also urges all corporate and governmental bodies to help donate to the orphange and also in the education of the youth of this country in Agriculture.
