Red Cross Launches Campaign Against Political Violence In Africa

Accra (Greater Accra) 23 April, '98 Mr Clovis Sewa, Information Officer at the office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Abidjan, has stressed the need for tolerance and respect for victims of armed conflicts and political violence in Africa. Mr Sewa made the call in Accra yesterday at the launching of "So Why" campaign by (ICRC) and the Ghana Red Cross Society (GRCS). Under the campaign whose theme is: "Nobody is spared by war", the Red Cross has teamed up with six of Africa's most popular artists who are committed to mobilise Africans to "make a journey into the heart of four conflict-ridden regions on the continent", namely, South Africa, Angola, Southern Sudan and Liberia.
