They are a new group, but they are filled with enough neutrons to cause an atomic musical explosion. Rhythm World Productions should be fortunate to have landed a trio that applies the laws of relativity to music. It is typically amazing.

The instant fame Ahwenepa as they are called is not entirely surprising. The members have for long been individually bubbling and sizzling, yearning to explode into a musical career that would outpace contemporary greats.

Happily, they have found the leeway and are just settling down to greater things.

Meanwhile, their maiden album ?Maame? is more than advertising the group, and effortlessly so. In the Volta Region especially, the album is causing a musical stir, because some of the tracks bear Ewe lyrics, very entertaining beat and wicked rhythm.

Among the tracks are Wo Eshow, Asigbega, Chop money, Medie, Agyanka, Ohia (Poverty), Devimastonu (Stubborn Child) and Ahobua.

Certainly, Ahwenepa is out with a unique style and their ultimate target is the international market. In pursuit of this, they are making sure their albums are tailored to meet both local and foreign tastes.

The group, comprising Narrow, Crazy B and Jerrow are based at Kaneshie, in Accra. In an interview, the trio sounded confident that they would soon attain the level of trail-blazers like Obrafuor and Lord Kenya.

Rhythm World Productions may well get used to the vim, vibe and ambition of these young boys.
