Ghana's prolific music superstar Abrantie Amakye Dede of the Apollo Hi-Kings International Band has announced that he will release his latest album to re-establish his dominance in the music industry in December this year.

The latest album, he told BEATWAVES, would fuse the ancient hi-life rhythm with the modern simplistic movement to conform to the changing musical pattern as well as maintain the quality of authentic traditional hi-life music.

Abrantie, who has over 30 albums to his credit, has been able to consistently appeal to generations of Ghanaians with his purely highlife brand of music.

When you listen to any of his albums, you feel the richness of his instruments and you get the feeling you were listening to him perform live. Among his many hits are 'Bebrebe Yi' , 'Iron Boy', 'Odo Kasa', 'Mani Agyina', 'Mma Wo Were Mfi', 'Me Monfa Nto Me So', 'Handkerchief', 'Seniwa', 'Mensuro', 'Mabre', 'Broken Promises', 'Nsuo Amuna', 'Sokoo Na Mmaa Pe', 'Kose Kose', 'Dabi Dabi', 'Mefre Wo', 'Okyena Sesei’, 'Odo Nfonii', 'Nka Akyi', 'To Be A Man Na War', among others.

Abrantie arrived home two weeks ago from Germany, where he spent a month putting finishing touches to his the new album. When asked why it has taken him so long to come out with a new album, Amakye Dede told BEATWAVES “I don’t believe in coming out with just any album.

What is important is that the songs must remain on the minds of people.” Most of the songs on his latest album are mid-tempo tracks with good highlife beats, good instrumentation as well as backing vocalists. The album has distinctive features in terms of programming, beat and style, a new dimension in our current highlife dispensation. The creativity in the composition is also commendable.
