Indigenous Ghanaian rhythms that have been contemporized by the Ghanaian popular musician, Amandzeba Nat Brew will soon be introduced to music lovers in France and beyond.

This follows a decision by the French promoter, Thierry Tremeau to promote the music of Amaze in France and other parts of Europe.

“Amandzeba has already created a niche for himself in Ghana and other parts of Africa. His music is highly authentic and must be exported”, said Tremeau, who was formerly based in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

Speaking to the Graphic Showbiz in Accra, Tremeau said he will introduce Amandzeba and his music to a group of journalists who have specialized in world music during a press cocktail in France.

He revealed that a programme will also be organized to launch the albums of Amandzeba in France and other European countries while arranging for him to perform in a number of multi cultural festivals.

“The benefits of this promotion will not be limited to Amandzeba or music - it will also enhance tourism as well as other aspects of the arts in Ghana including dance, theatre and the visual arts”, added Tremeau.

“It is a project that will help catapult Ghanaian music onto the European scene. It is unfortunate that rich Ghanaian highlife is not being effectively promoted - we need to send it out”, said Tahi Serge Dominique, an arts promoter from Cote d’Ivoire.

“We have been working extremely hard for the past several years to promote Ghana through music. This is a great opportunity to place Ghana on the world music scene after a long absence”, added dreadlocked Amandzeba Nat Brew.

It will be recalled that over the past decade or more, Ghanaian music has been effectively “locked’ within our borders thus preventing us from taking advantage of our share from the proceeds of world music sales.

Tremeau has a wide range of experience in post production for various television stations. In Africa, he has worked with RTI (Cote d’Ivoire), NBC (Mauritius), RTS (Senegal) and ORT (Mali) as well as promoting artistes.
