They brought us Esther Smith, Philipa Baafi, Prophet Seth Frimpong, Mama Martha, and Joseph ?Anadwo Bogya? Mensah. Not to disappoint fans this year, Ankobeahene Records has unveiled another promising sensation in Margaret Mensah.

Born to Deacon Emmanuel Mensah and Deaconess Ross Mensah, this  26 year old Asokore-Eddiuase (Ashanti Region) native has stormed the airwaves this season with the hit tracks ?Awurade Kasa? and ?Ebeba Mu?. This album entitled ?Ebeba Mu? is Margaret Mensah?s second album following her previous release of ?Asem No Ne Jesus? in 2003.

Margaret was educated at Ahmaddiya JSS and Ahmaddiya Senior Secondary (AMASS) schools, all at Asokore. Margaret is an active member of the Church of Pentecost, Asokore Central Assembly. She started singing at the young age of thirteen and is currently the chorus leader in the Asokore Central Church of Pentecost.

Margaret?s current album ?Ebebe Mu? was launched at Asokore last month. She has eight tracks on this album including the hits tracks on this album including the hit tracks, ?Ebebe Mu? and ?Awurade Kasa?. She composed and sang all tracks on the album except for two, where she received assistance from her younger brother and one elder from her church. The album was recorded, and mixed by Paa Solo at SPL Digital Studio at Old Tafo in Kumasi.

?Ewurade Kasa? one of Maggie?s hit songs opens the CD, performed in the reggae vein sets the pace for the album. After a short instrumental intro, Maggie?s rich voice together with backing vocals follows after which she takes over imploring the almighty Lord to speak to her. If it is indeed the Lord then she is ready to listen, she sings.

On ?Ebebe Mu? the title track, a mid-tempo tune, Maggie employs her major asset, her voice to once again enhance the beautiful instrumentation. ?Hyira Me? another beautiful song on the album also in the reggae vein, has the singer pleading with her maker that once she is in her presence He should bless her.

That Margaret Mensah has a very good voice is not in doubt. Ad this coupled with her harmonious backing vocals make her album one that many gospel music lovers will find very entertaining.
