Ghana?s dancehall stopper, lyrical master and sexy don dada, Batman on April 7 invited the press over to let them know about his new hit-to-be album ?Samini? (Rain God).
Asked why he decided to name this album ?Samini? (Rain God), he said, ?I want to project my Ghanaian name Samini more onto the market?. Oh, yes people! That?s his real name, Samini.
Emceed by KOD of Radio Gold with the godfather of hiplife Reggie Rockstone as the chairperson and Nana King, the publicist of Batman by name Lawrencia Duah (Cosmopolitan Ventures), producer Mr Alex (Lexyfri Productions), Tony Pun (Batman?s manager), Batman?s father Mr Samini and elder brother as guests, Batman took turns to explain the songs on the album.
?Odo?, which he has performed a number of times and is still on everyone?s lips speaks of the complexity of love. The style of this track is quite unusual ?it begins as a ballad and ends as a hot reggae song.
In contrast to ?Odo?, ?Music? featuring AB, a personal life experience tune portrays the struggle of a musician and the fact that a true musician is kept alive by his music no matter the ups and downs he or she goes through.
Gospel lovers are not left out on this album. His ?Atemuda? (Judgement day) song reminds all of the second coming of Christ.
Chana brings a completely new flavour to ?Sexy?, which also promises to be a dancehall hit together with ?Me and da mic?, another yet-to-be club banger.
?Obaa Basia and African Lady?, which started receiving massive airplay from Friday according to him concisely, highlights the extraordinary beauty of women.
This time round, it was not Linda he expressed his love to rather it was Philomena. ?Philo? just like ?Linda? (his hit debut) will have Ghana on their feet.
Another piece, which I am looking forward to be used by the Ministry of Children?s Affairs and NGO?s is a song dedicated to the suffering children of our land titled ?Save Us?. You should get to listen to the introduction of this track. I won?t tell you but just try to get a feel of it.
Other hit tracks on the album include the self-titled song ?Samini? featuring Shee, a song that will keep fans on the dance floor, ?Rain or Shine? featuring Chana, ?Repatriation? featuring Gogomi and Ogabi and ?Fakye? (Forgive) featuring Okyeame Quame and Shee.
Engineers that blessed the works of Batman with their magical hands were Quick Action, Nana King (Ashanti International), Cold Eye, JMJ (Joshua) and Roro.
Now pay attention because this is unprecedented. This album is a mixture of hiplife, dancehall, techno and reggae. It will undoubtedly appeal to a massive number of music lovers.
And hey sshh! Can you keep a secret? Batman will be?. I don?t think you can. Okay let me tell you something. He will be touring the whole nation to promote this album under the theme ?Understanding Sickle Cell? bringing to light the eradication of the disease.
And as I told you in my last article, it?s going to be fireworks on April 23 at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel at 4:00pm. Come watch him perform live.
