Batman Supports Malaria Campaign

Award winning entertainer, Samini, aka Batman, has recorded a 30-second radio jingle about the dangers of malaria, in support of the national campaign to protect children from malaria, measles, polio, and Vitamin A deficiency.

Samini recorded an English jingle, which has hit alongside another English version, as well as eight other Ghanaian language versions.

The jingles were produced by Creative Storm, a leading communication company, supporting the health campaign.

The special recording is Samini?s exceptional contribution to a massive integrated child health campaign, which would see millions of children across the country, being immunized against measles and polio, and also, provided with Vitamin A supplements from now, till Sunday.


In a first for the country, all children under two, would be offered insecticide-treated bed nets ? one of the most efficient ways to combat malaria.

The jingle, a catchy tune, which informs listeners about the campaign, and the particular threat of malaria, urges families to take their children to the nearest immunization post to receive free bed nets.

The song dileates on the theme: ?Mosquito, Malaria? No way?.
The child health campaign is being led by the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service, with support from the Government of Japan, UNICEF, UK Department for International Development, World Health Organisation, Ghana Red Cross Society, World Bank, Global Measles Partnership, Rotary International, USAID, the major development partners of the Health Sector, and the private sector.

Since the launch of his first album in 2002, with its hit-song Linda, Samini has become one of Ghana?s most popular hiplife artistes, known for his unique blend of musical styles and raspy voice.

Samini launched his newest self-titled album in May 2006, and recently won the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) award for ?Best African ACT?.
