Batman?s ?Linda? Rules

Batman That?s Batman?s Linda is the hottest and possibly the most played hiplife song cannot be disputed, not even by his enemies.

Reviewing this album titled ?Dwankwansere? seems like a big challenge to this reporter considering that she is absolutely wild about a good number of the songs especially Linda, thanks to Bola Ray of Joy FM, everybody knows that.

?Linda?, undoubtedly is a good song, great arrangement and instrumentation and very danceable, little wonder it is making waves at night clubs, private parties and social gatherings.

Batman sings ?Nsuo no amuna, behye dan mu na yenda, menkoa m?akoma Linda, enne Anadwo yi dee pan pan pan pan, ebeye dwe se, Menko m?akoma Linda, ene Anadwo yi dee pan pan pan.? He does great with rhyming here, hear him Menkoa M?akoma Linda, W?ni ho a m?I ntume nda, menkoa m?akoma Linda, ene Anadwo yi?.

A number of people including my colleague Francis Doku are uncomfortably with the lyrics which clearly is sexually suggestive.

Of course if Batman goes like ?M?anom Kinapharma, m?atam me hammer, enne Anadwo yi basin woto a na m?hyema,? then they have a point. The rhyming is brilliant Batman, but perhaps you may have to take another look at the lyrics in future.

Showbiz asked Batman exactly what he means by ?pan pan pan?? ?It basically means doing things with speed and accuracy.? When he was asked to be specific especially with reference to Linda, Batman did not hesitate, ?of course including sex, one has to go about it fast fast.?

As is typical of him, the song has a formation dance to go with it, with the ?pan pan pan? aptly describing the intentions of the artiste. Remember what they do with Kokoveli?s Zaa-Za and K.K. Fosu?s Suje Suje?

Batman must be a lucky guy with his debut being an instant hit, it does not happen often with artistes who feature for quite a while before attempting their own albums.

Apart from ?Linda? the album has a good number of songs though they would do with a bit more airplay.

Call it good news or bad news but Batman says he is taking a two-year break from featuring on other people?s songs. Obviously the young man cannot lurk in the shadows of others forever, he needs to build his own image. Besides he has not been very happy with the attitude some of the people he has worked with, ?they leave me to do most of the work when I am only supposed to help.?

Batman says this stand has not marred the cordial relationship with his colleagues especially Kokovelli and K.K. Fosu with whom Hiplife Trinity came about, with some music enthusiasts referring to them as group, including Charterhouse, organisers of Ghana Music Awards.

The young man acknowledge the fact that it is an election year and does ?Kokromoti? (the thumb) in which he preaches  peace and urges  Ghanaians to vote wisely. He could not have put it better asking the media to exercise circumspection in their reportage. Great one there Batman!

?Egwee? amazes me, why would anyone want to advise people to either take ?akpeteshie? or smoke ?ntanpi? (I am told that is another for wee). He explains that it basically those who make it a habit to make other peoples? business theirs, as Batman rightly says ?other people?s business has virtually become your daily bread.? Say that again Batman!!!

Trust musicians to blow their own horns at the least opportunity, exactly what Batman does in a powerful raga style, Batman does in ?Di Wo Lane Mu?. Opening in a powerful raga style, Batman tells his colleagues to ?lay a red carpet? for him, ?You have made me King, which of you can disobey my rules?? He may irritate some of his colleagues as he goes on to say, ?Ladies say I am sexy.?

This, one cannot take from him because I personally think he is gorgeous and a terrific dancer and if ladies? reaction whenever he is on stage is anything to go by then Batman is right.

As if to let his people from the Upper west Region know that he is proud of his roots, Batman sings ?Lambori?, the third song on Side A of the album which also has a remix and an instrumental version of the ever popular ?Linda?.

Other songs on the album, a Lexifry Production are ?Do Something?, ?Emmaa? and ?Ye Rebre?.

22 year old Batman, real name Emmanuel Samini is single and has a beautiful three month old daughter Theresa Samini, ?she is such a treasure and I cherish her so much.
?

If anyone thinks that this reporter is exaggerating and going on too much about Linda, hear this: Linda moved from number 17 to number 4 on Megahits, a musical chart programmed on Joy FM presented by Kwesi Anim-Agyei which highlights the 20 top local tunes of the week. It looks like it will be at the top in no time because it has moved to number two this week.
