BRM (Beyond Race Magazine), an internationally distributed publication spotlighting cutting edge music, entertainment and lifestyle, presents its new Emerging Artists Showcase, kicking off with Blitz the Ambassador and the Bodega Girls at BLVD on Thursday, January 28th. After a breakout year in 2009, Blitz the Ambassador and his Embassy Ensemble are looking to conquer the game with a combination of lyrical wit and a dynamic horn section. Blitz the Ambasador, from Brooklyn via Ghana, puts on one of the most engaging live shows in hip-hop.
His album, Stereotype was named Best of 2009 by Society of Cinema & the Arts, saying his "rousing horns beat-wise…and the passion and urgency with which Blitz delivers his rhymes make him impossible to write off.”
The January 28th show is also special because ticket proceeds will be going to help the brothers and sisters in Haiti as ticket sales are being donated to “Partners in Health” Haitian Relief Effort. Coinciding with this concert, in continued support of the people of Haiti, Blitz will be releasing an EP of exclusive material called Rise, Haiti, Rise. It will be available for download next week and all the proceeds will go toward the Haitian relief effort.
Blitz the Ambassador only recently released First, Emmett (S) Till", a stirring track reminding us of the civil rights movement in honor of Martin Luther King Day. Download on ameyawdebrah.com
