Boyz II Men This year?s Valentine?s day in Accra is expected to have an exciting twist as the ?most sought after and commercially successful R&B group of all time?, Boys II Men, arrive in town to serenade Ghanaians concert goers in a performance fit for lovers at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Under the sponsorship of Spacefon Areeba, Shawn Stockman, Wayne Morris and Nate Morris (no relation) who make the group, will bring the sum of their four voices to bear at the special Valentine?s Day (February 14) concert being organised by leading event management company, Charter House, in association with Joy FM.

A news release put out by the organisers says that the event is designed to be Spacefon-Areeba?s valentine day gift to her cherished customers and Ghanaians in general.

With their smooth brand of doo-wop/hiphop, Boy II Men spearheaded the renaissance of the R&B vocal style, in the process revatlaising Motown?s Records, best selling act. Their second album, ?Boys II Men?, is the label?s best-selling album of all time.

Since coming together in 1988 at the Creative & Performing Arts High School of Philadelphia, the quarter have gone on to sell over forty million albums world-wide.

Some of the hits are ?Can You Stand the Rain?, ?Motownphilly?, ?End of the Road? which released as a single, became not just a blockbuster, but one of the biggest hits in history spending thirteen weeks at number one on the pop charts, breaking  the previous record of 11 weeks by Elvis Presley in 1965.

Boys II Men have also had hits such as ?One Sweet Day? with Mariah Carey, ?4 Seasons of Loneliness?, and ?A song for Mama?.

In January 2004, Spacefon sponsored a two-concert tour of another world acclaimed raga and pop artiste, Shaggy.

The Shaggy package which Spacefon designed as her seventh anniversary gift to Ghanaians was a bombshell.

A showbiz report on the Accra International Conference Centre described the euphoria that greeted the concert as ?unprecedented?.

?Until Shaggy was announced?, the report said no one knew Ghanaians could scream that loud. It was deafening. The crowd, an incredibly responsive one went on its feet a few at first, until it was not possible to see anything if you sat down so everybody just stood up and sang and danced".

?When Shaggy, dressed simply in jeans and T-shirt launched in ?Bombastic?, it was enough to elicit a deafening scream, and then a sing along with him, he did his lazy gyration of his waist which seemed to drive the women crazy?.

Come Valentine Day and it is expected that Boys II Men will leave behind their own kind of special memories.
