The joy and excitement that filled the auditorium of the Calvary Baptist Church last Friday would always be remembered as the audiences were given a wonderful opportunity to witness great performances at its musical festival.
As part of its week celebration, the Youth Fellowship of the church organised the festival, dubbed Mega Musical Festival, in a very colourful manner.
Calvaryway Incorporated, the youth choir, set the pace with an awe-inspiring song. It was a beautiful spectacle to see the choir in their ?uniform?. It seems the group has many parts. ?Kings of Kings?, a dance choreography was performed by them followed by ?Trading my sorrows? by the same group. It was a splendid presentation.
The Mighty Sparrows, a youth group in the church was not left out as they staged a short sketch depicting two political parties presenting their manifestos. For the ten minutes on stage, it was laughing galore. One presidential aspirant even promised that, when he is voted into power, he power, he would move the sea to Kumasi so that the people in Kumasi can also swim.
Eugene Arthur Sam, a radio presenter and Master of Ceremony touched the audience with his songs which they responded to by singing along with him.
The Stewards of Grace also treated the audience to some songs. The group produced a strong and unique sound by virtue of the innovative blending of its male and female voices in a manner that ensured greater independence and control of individual voices. One of their songs, Okronkroni by Maame Justin could not be resisted as it kept the audience on the feet, singing and dancing.
It was all applause and cheers when the sensational Soul Winners took over the stage. The group no wonder kept everybody on their feet with a superb collection of some of their hit songs. There seems to be no end to what soul winners can do.
The celebration was on the theme ?Stay Real?. In his remarks, the Youth President, Mr Felix Owusu, said the celebration focused on fostering a healthy life style among the youth who were made aware of the realities of HIV/AIDS since it is deadly to live in ignorance of the menace.
The organisers expressed genuine gratitude to Ghana AIDS Commission, Topman Bookshop, Kinapharma and Ghana Heavy Equipment for their support.
