The name D-Flex is a showbiz name of a young fine Hausa singer. He describes himself as a ‘hip life singer’. He is relatively a new artiste though he’s been around for some time now. Many wouldn’t readily make him out when his name is mentioned but face-wise he is fairly popular.

Real name, Abubakar Alhassan has couple of collaborations with some of the country’s mainstream musicians under his belt; talk of featuring on K.K. Fosu’s ‘Number 1’. He did a beautiful verse in Hausa on the song to make it more appealing and soothing to the ears.

There is no doubt that a number of Ghanaian musicians are forcefully changing their tunes to suit the latest Azonto dance craze that has been thrilling Ghana’s music industry. The hiplife musician, has said he won’t stop the move to release his newest album because of Azonto. Hence he is releasing his latest album, titled ‘Paradise’, without any fear of being sidelined by the Azonto flavour which is also generating a lot of attention beyond the shores of Ghana.

“My album is unique. Anytime I do a song I don’t listen to it but my management listens to it and the engineers also listen to it. We have critics who also listen to the songs to make sure we do the right song. This album took me like a year. I go to the studio and they tell me no go back and do this. So when you listen to the album you will know why the album will stay. I am telling you, 2012 is for D Flex,” he added last Friday after an album release press conference at Afrikiko in Accra.

The 14-track album is titled ‘Paradise’. He explained that the title was influenced by the kinds of messages in the songs. “Somebody will be like it is like paradise in heaven but it is not that. If you get the album and listen, you will understand what I am trying to say,” he added.

Currently, he is releasing the album under Eastern World Entertainment and hopes to generate one of the biggest attentions in Ghana. Songs on the album are interesting including a gospel track, ‘Nyame Yaba’ featuring Erico, and ‘Oppollo’ featuring Stay Jay and Castro. He also featured Praye and KK Fosu.

D-Flex is not a new face on the music scene. He has been around for years and performed and shared stages with the likes of Ofori Amponsah, KK Fosu and Kofi Nti.

Now he is set to release his own album after several singles. D Flex will be embarking on a number of projects including a road safety project as part of his social responsibility. Currently, he also wants to encourage upcoming artistes to be steadfast in making their dreams come through.
