DJ Black out with compilation

One of Ghana’s reigning hiphop, hiplife and R&B DJs, Kwadwo Ampofo, aka DJ Black, has released his second remix compilation on CD which has twenty-three songs.

The songs on the compilation featured seasoned artistes like Tic Tac, Lord Kenya, Obrafuo, Reggie Rockstone and a host of others, whose various songs have been remixed with the fusion of various hiphop beats by DJ Black.



Mr Black’s first remix compilation, dubbed The Toontoom Mix which was released in 2006, boasts of international artistes like Akon, Wayne Wonder and the best of rap artistes from Ghana like Reggie Rockstone, Castro, Tinny and more.



The CD compilation was produced to satisfy the demands of music fans who always want to associate themselves with DJ Black’s style of play anytime he is on air on Joy FM.



When on radio, DJ Black takes music lovers through the world of the DJ with listeners always wanting more.



Black is a real music player; and truly, he is a force to reckon with in hiphop and R&B disc jockeying in Ghana. Black began as a DJ with the group Prime Cut in 1995 for 6 months, then he did a stint with the La-Rocka nightclub.

In 1997 he joined Radio Universe where he hosted the Space Jam and his controversial hiphop show dubbed, The Universal Hiphop Show. He also doubled as a studio DJ with the Dope Rhymes Studios, an underground hiphop studio located at Nima (The Ghetto).



Mr. Black is one DJ who sounds fresh any time you listen to him; he is never scared to try new things and is one of the founders of BLAQBONE Entertainment and TOONTOOM Records who command the street music scene in Ghana.



A graduate of the University of Ghana with a Diploma in Public Administration, DJ Black joined Joy FM in 2001. He won the Rothmans DJ Challenge in 2001, which had several competitors from some West Africa countries.



He is the host of The Radio Show on JOY 99.7 FM; Weekend Warmer on  Fridays from 9pm - 1am; Open House Party, Saturdays 7pm - 12am; Joy Beach Jam, Sundays 3pm - 5:45pm  His shows are head banging and full of life.
