Turbo B DJ Turbo whose real name is Abdulai Rahim Abu was born in the Ashanti region and schooled at Kumasi High. He is fair in complexion, 5.9 tall and has a powerful sensational style of rapping fast and the ability to vary to suit his form.
DJ Turbo has been a rapper for almost ten years and has competed successfully in several rap shows in Kumasi. He is an astonishing rap thriller and a hypnotizer on stage. Coupled with his magical lyrics and his experience as a radio and Nite club DJ, he?s seen less on stage performance. He has the talent to keep his audience in suspense and has a dynamic flair on stage.
Having spinned at various nite clubs such as Podium Nite club, Tzar Nite club and currently at Kiravee Nite club. For now his experience and magical voice has landed him a job as a DJ at Otec FM in Kumasi. He featured great artistes like K.K. Fosu, Okyeame Akoto, Swazy B, St. Kelly and a powerful northern region singer called Coach Tanko.
After his first album, Adyiakyebia in the year 2002 which was a hit, DJ Turbo is on the way to introduce his second powerful album in Ghana. Music fans should have greater expectation to welcoming Abdulai Rahim Abu, a.k.a. DJ Turbo.
Some of the tracks from his last album 2002 "Adyiakyebia" are "DJ Turbo" in Twi language and "Boonana" also in Twi language. He later composed two more tracks in Twi and used it to pay tribute to the late Terry Bonchaka and Heavy Dee.
Flash4Dream DJ Turbo has the opportunity of featuring on the German Girl Group called "Flash4Dream" in the English album version "Flashback", thus this has made DJ Turbo go international.
It all began when a German named Mr. Jens Moeller a.k.a Moelli of the "Blue Light Records", situated in Germany was in search of a serious rapper to feature on the his Girl Group "Flash4Dream" on their english version of the album "Flashback". The album contains pop songs for the European dance floor but also has some ballads songs on them. Because of the contact Moelli had with Roberto of Hit Digital Production, Ghana, he decided to let a Ghanaian Rapper feature in two tracks of the album. After several choices of some artistes, Roberto selected DJ Turbo, because of his unique rap style and creativity. Also two backing vocal ladies from Ghana featured in two tracks of the "FlashBack" album.
DJ Turbo will be going to Germany in September, 2004 to perform together with the Girl Group. Turbo has already been invited last year for the launching party in Germany. The interest to see Turbo in Germany perform alongside Flash4Dream was very high when the "Flashback? album came out and will honour their invitation this time round. It would definitely be a premiere for the three Girls and DJ Turbo when they go on stage.
