The trial of Ghanaian hiplife star, Daasebre Gwamena, on a drug trafficking offence in the UK, has been adjourned to May 8 to allow the prosecution time to assemble witnesses.

The case was due to have been heard today. Hearing was deferred in November last year, after it was declared a miss-trial.

At the time, the prosecution failed to convince the 12-member jury to reach a verdict.

According to Nana Sefa Twum, a Ghanaian journalist following the case in the UK, the prosecution is expected to produce a number of witnesses on May 8, when the re-trial commences.

Shortly after his arrest last year, Daasebre Dwamena declined visits and bail. Sefa Twum told JOY News, lawyers for the singer have not yet indicated their intention to apply for bail.
