Daughters of Glorious Jesus, set for more awards
Ghana's current hottest gospel trio, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, and Hiplife sensation, VIP, have top nominations for this year's Ghana Music Awards with nominations in seven awards categories each.

Daughters who have in recent times swept any awards that have come their way, have been nominated for Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Artiste of the Year, Best Female Vocal Performance, Gospel song of the Year, Gospel Album of the Year and Gospel Artiste of the Year Award.

VIP on the other hand have been nominated for the Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Artiste of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year, Hiplife Album of the Year, Hiplife Artiste of the Year and Best Collaboration of the Year with Tic Tac and Frank Mensah.

Though Daughters and VIP have seven nominations each, they face stiff competition from other contenders.

While Daughters have to contend with Jude Lomotey and Sandra Oduro for the Gospel Song of the Year Award and Best Female Vocal Performance.

VIP will also have a heavy task, contending with Daddy Lumba, King David, Nana Tuffuor and Okomfo Kwadae for the Song of the Year award and Slim Buster, Trinity Boys and Daughters for Artiste of the Year award.

Obrafuor follows with six nominations in Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year, Hiplife Album of the Year, Hiplife Artiste of the year and Best Collaboration with Tinny.

Daddy Lumba and King David, have five nominations each, both contesting for Song of the Year, Best Male Vocal Performance and Contemporary Highlife Song of the Year awards.

4 x 4, the young talented hiplife duo, are hot contenders for New Artiste of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year, Hiplife Album of the Year and Hiplife Artiste of the Year awards.

This year's Ghana Music Awards, scheduled to take place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, March 15, will mark the fifth anniversary of the awards. The 2004 awards will award excellence in 24 categories.
