Ofori-Quaye in FIFA All-Star Squad

Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - Three African U-20 players have been listed in the All-Star team named by FIFA at the World Youth Championship, which ended Saturday in Lagos.

The players selected are Nigeria's Pius Ikedia, Ghana's Peter Ofori- Quaye and Mali's Seydou Keita.

FIFA announced the squad on the basis of a report made by its technical study group made up of coaches and instructors.

World Youth champions Spain has the highest number of players with Carlos Marchena Lopez, Xavier Hernandez and Pablo Gonzalez.

Silver medalists, Japan, had two representatives -- Shinji Ono and Masashi Motoyama, while Paraguayn Paulo Da Silva and Mexico Rafael Marquez were also named in the squad. For the goalkeeper, Uruguay's Hector Fabian Carini was named.

Also named in the reserve list are two Africans, Mahamadou Dissa of Mali and Ghana's Rahman Issa.

Others in the reserve are Mexico's goalkeeper Christian Martinez and Damian Duff of Republic of Ireland.

FIFA said the remaining reserves are yet to be named.
