Dress well - musicians told

The Rhythms of African Music Foundation (RAMF), a non-governmental organization made up of musicians has organized a day’s seminar for Ghanaian musicians at Agona Swedru in the Central Region.

The seminar touched on issues affecting the music industry and solutions to help address them.



The seminar was aimed at equipping the musicians with modernized and the requisite tools as well as information regarding the music industry in Ghana and in the Diaspora currently.



Addressing the participants at the opening ceremony, the president of RAMF, G.W. Dickson told the musicians that the time had come for them to assess their performances in the industry.



Mr Dickson, who is the chief executive of G.W. Music Centre in Ghana and South Africa and a renowned musician was not happy about the indecent lifestyle of certain musicians, and advised them to desist from such behaviour, adding that musicians should lead humble and exemplary lives for others to emulate.



He observed that excessive drinking, womanizing, indecent lyrics and dressing as well as other social vices had the tendency of jeopardizing their musical career for life.

He promised that his outfit would continue to organise such seminars frequently for musicians in the country to educate them on issues and also offer them the needed support and encouragement regarding the business aspect of music.



He said he would use all available means to promote Ghanaian culture as well as work hand-in-hand with the people to promote peace and unity.



He said there was a lot to be done with regard to developing the music industry, which needed the support of every stakeholder.


The CEO of Wisdom Word Group, Rev. Dr. Louis C.A. Godson, who is also a motivational speaker, urged musicians to seek God’s guidance in their day-to-day activities.



He called on musicians to come together and work as a team to promote Ghanaian music worldwide.
